Volunteers are important people!
Without volunteers we would be unable to run our therapeutic riding and riding school programs.
We strive to provide our volunteers with a safe, informative and fun time here at Windy Acres Stables. We hope you will consider giving some of your time and talent to enhance our rider's lives
Volunteer Roles and Rewards
At Windy Acres Stable we strive to give as much to our volunteers as they give to our riders.

Volunteers allow Windy Acres to provide manpower intensive therapeutic riding lessons at the same cost as the riding school.

Volunteers receive opportunities for ongoing education in horse husbandry.

Volunteers have opportunities for horse riding instruction.

Volunteers are provided with a relaxing environment from the busy everyday and the reward of helping others.
Volunteers within riding program
Volunteers within the riding program help with preparing the horses for lessons, leading horses during lessons and supporting riders during lessons.
Volunteers need to commit to evening (or Saturday morning) for 7 weeks to provide consistent programming
Training provided.
Good place to start for those with no horse knowledge
Volunteers helping with horse care
Volunteers helping with horse care should have some experience with horses, however training is provided.
Volunteers help with grooming, cleaning and feeding.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a morning or evening every week.
Volunteers helping with animal care
Volunteers who help with animal care clean cages and pens of our little animals.
No experience required and training is provided.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a time once a week.
Volunteers helping with special projects
As you can imagine around the farm there are always projects to be completed. Some require a particular skill, many do not.
Great opportunity for a volunteer who can't commit on a regular basis

All volunteers over the age of 18 years old must have a vulnerable sector clearance
