Darth Vader is one of our special horses who shares his time with our experienced riders, enjoying his work when the weather is ideal. With his sleek coat and love of attention, he is always happy to receive a good scratch and some affection. But Darth is unique in a way that makes him especially special. He has a tracheostomy tube that is changed daily to assist with his breathing. While his equipment may look a little unusual or even be off-putting to someone seeing it for the first time, Darth doesn't seem to care one bit! He simply gets on with being Darth. And what a horse he is! Darth can run freely in the field, navigate obstacles, walk, trot and canter with riders, and thoroughly enjoys showing everyone that his tracheostomy doesn't stop him from living life to the fullest. His special needs do mean that he requires extra daily attention to ensure his tube is properly fitted and functioning correctly. That specialized care is an important part of keeping Darth comfortable, healthy, and able to continue doing the job he loves.
