Spice experienced her very first rider in the spring of 2026, and what an adventure it has been! She has quickly learned that being ridden can be a pretty wonderful thing, and she is embracing all the new experiences that come her way. From obstacle courses to leading riders through the forest and heading out on trail rides, Spice is discovering just how much she can do. She is still a little unsure of herself and her abilities, but she is progressing beautifully through her training program. With continued patience, consistency, and encouragement, we expect her to be fully integrated into our riding program within the next year. Spice is also learning one of the most important skills for a therapeutic riding horse: patience. Learning to stand quietly and confidently while her rider is safely settled into the saddle, using our therapeutic mounting ramp is paramount. For a young horse who is still finding her confidence, Spice is proving that sometimes the best things take a little time.
